The Iceland Horticultural Society celebrates its 140th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion, educational walks are offered throughout the country this summer.
The Municipality of Kópavogur is celebrating its 70th anniversary, and numerous events are held in the town to commemorate this milestone.
On Tuesday, July 8th, there will be an educational walk in Guðmundarlundur in Kópavogur, starting at the main entrance at 5:00 PM. The hosts will be the Municipality of Kópavogur and the Kópavogur Forestry Association. Friðrik Baldursson, the horticultural manager of Kópavogur, and Kristinn H. Þorsteinsson, the manager of the Forestry Association, will welcome guests and guide them through the walk.

To find your way to Guðmundarlundur, you can, for example, go to ja.is and enter Leiðarendi 3 to view a map and/or follow directions. There are two routes from Vatnsendavegur. The easier one is from Vatnsendavegur onto Markavegur. Then turn right onto Landsendi, pass the stables, and turn left onto Leiðarendi.
